Choose one of 3 student levels of instruction for the best fit.
Little Liszts: Students who are just starting music lessons will learn how to confidently read the staff and count basic rhythms, along with learning all the terminology and nuances of a budding musician.
Mezzo Mozarts: Students who have played for 1-2 years will fit perfectly in this theory class, as they will strengthen their comprehension of the staff and more advanced rhythms. These students will also begin to delve into the foundational skills of music theory and the Circle of 5ths.
Proficient Prokofievs: Students who have studied for 3+ years will come to understand reading and musical analysis in a new light, as they develop both a visual and aural competency for intermediate music theory, the Circle of 5ths, and an array of intervallic and chordal relationships.
Students will consistently undergo a rotating three-week, three-step process for full mastery and comprehension of music theory and aural(ear) training concepts.
Week 1 LEARN - Students will learn in small groups about music concepts vital to each and every instrument and area of music study.
Week 2 REVIEW - Students will have the time to quiz themselves on learned concepts and ask for individual help and guidance when needed.
Week 3 MASTER - Students will have the ability to apply their new knowledge to their current studies, and “show what they know” to their peers, regardless of difference in instrument or skill.
